DR BEATRICE BARTOLOMEI

Beatrice was born and raised in Perugia (Italy). She got her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry from the University of Perugia. Then, she moved to the University of Trieste (Italy) for her doctoral studies, under the supervision of Prof. Maurizio Prato, where she obtained her PhD in Nanotechnology in 2024.

 

Her PhD studies focused on the synthesis and application of Carbon Nanodots, a new generation of nanoparticles that stand in between organic chemistry and material science. During her PhD, she spent some months at the University of Michigan (USA), under the supervision of Prof. N. Kotov, where she explored the self-assembly of chiral nanostructures. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Trieste.

Outside work, Beatrice enjoys traveling around the world, good food, running, and making origami.
