DR LAURA CUNNINGHAM
Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry - University of Galway, Ireland
Laura was born in Dublin, Ireland. She received her BSc from University College Dublin and there completed her PhD in 2020. She then moved to the University of Oxford to carry out postdoctoral research in asymmetric catalysis and supramolecular chemistry. During that time, she served as the chemistry ED&I fellow and two terms as the President of Oxford Women in Chemistry. Laura received a number of awards recognising her contributions to research and culture at Oxford including the EDI Champion award and Keble College Fellowship.
In December 2023, she returned to Ireland to begin her independent research career at the University of Galway. Laura's research programme focuses on the use of supramolecular phenomena to solve long-standing challenges in organic synthesis.
